FAQs

What are your diapers made out of?

The outer layer is made of 100% cotton and the waterproof layer is Ultrex: a waterproof breathable layer that keeps water in but allows air to circulate. You will notice some moisture wicking to the cotton layer of the diaper due to the breathable nature of the fabric, but it won't be wet. If your baby just wets or if the diaper stays clean when your baby poops, you can reuse the cover with a new soaker. I like to rotate between two covers so that one cover dries out from the wicking while the other is in use.

How do the cord locks work?

Cord locks slide down the elastic cord to make the legs fully adjustable to fit snuggly on any size baby. You simply press the button and slide the lock down until it's as snug as you like. With the right fit, Monkey Do Diapers will contain pretty much any mess your baby can throw at it!

How do I wash my Monkey Do Diapers?

It is recommended that you rinse your diapers in cold water first to prevent staining. Then wash on hot using a diaper-friendly detergent such as Rockin' Green. Line dry to save energy or dry in the dryer WITHOUT a dryer sheet. Don't use any fabric softeners either. If your diapers get the stinkies or your baby develops a rash, you probably need to strip your diapers by washing them in hot water without any detergent until you don't see any soap bubbles when you open the washer during the agitate cycle (water bubbles are okay). I find that adding vinegar to the wash now and then helps keep the stinkies away too.

Tell me about your sets.

Since the covers can be reused between washings, I offer sets with more than one soaker per cover. Newborns wet more often than older babies so the "Newborn sets" come with 3 soakers per cover instead of two. These are also good for heavy wetters. You can double up the soakers for nighttime use if you need to as well. I offer a set of 12 covers for those who already have a stash of prefolds or some other type of soaker but really like Monkey Do covers. The full sets come with enough covers and soakers to cloth diaper a baby full time if laundry is done every other day or every third day.
